The 24th Annual Edison Park Turkey Trot will be held virtually this year!
This year, due to COVID-19, we are hosting our race virtually. It is our hope that while we cannot physically gather on Thanksgiving morning, we can still bring the spirit of the community together during the Thanksgiving season as we raise funds and awareness for local worthy causes.
A virtual 5K allows you to plan the date, the time, and the route for your own race. Run on a treadmill or your favorite course; run Thanksgiving morning or during your usual workout time. Once finished, you can upload results and photos to share with the Edison Park Turkey Trot community.
See the tab marked 'Make Your Run Fun' for more ideas on ways to bring the spirit and tradition of Thanksgiving morning to your own personal Turkey Trot.
To commemorate this unique event, we are featuring a limited edition version of the famous Turkey Trot T-shirt. Be sure to register to get your special edition shirt!
Registration is $25 and is open between September 14-December 1.
What do the shirts look like?
The committee has chosen a surgical blue color in honor of healthcare workers who have been working the frontlines during this pandemic. We are so grateful for their tireless work during these unprecedented times. We have also included Chicago stars to recognize the strength of our city during 2020. On the back, we have included our sponsors, many who have supported the Turkey Trot since its inception in 1996. We hope you continue to support these businesses who have been impacted by COVID-19. Finally, on the sleeve, we have our beneficiaries for this year: New Hope Community Food Pantry Chicago, St. Paul of the Cross Food Pantry, and meals from local businesses to our healthcare workers.
*T-Shirt exchanges are not available this year. Please double check your sizing prior to confirming your registration.
